Category Leader – IT (Sourcing & Procurement)

About the role

The Category Leader – IT is responsible for shaping and executing sourcing strategies across all IT categories, including SaaS, hardware, cloud solutions and licensing, within a regulated generic pharmaceutical environment. You will act as a strategic partner to IT, Digital, Finance and Business teams to ensure cost‑effective, secure and compliant procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the global IT category strategy in collaboration with the Category Manager and procurement leadership.
• Lead tactical sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs), evaluate bids, negotiate contracts and ensure supplier onboarding.
• Manage day‑to‑day supplier relationships, monitor performance with KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify cost‑optimization opportunities such as license rationalisation, demand consolidation and vendor reduction.
• Support cross‑functional projects including ERP roll‑outs, cloud migrations and digital transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Pharmacy or related field.
• 3‑6 years of hands‑on procurement experience, preferably in indirect spend and regulated industries.
• Proven ability to run sourcing events, negotiate complex contracts and manage global suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across IT, finance and legal functions.
