Global Financial Controls & Compliance Process Experts Senior Manager

About the role

Novartis is seeking a senior manager to shape and lead a newly created cross‑process SME role within Global Financial Controls & Compliance. The role will drive collaboration, align control design, and support the S/4HANA transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define scope, responsibilities and ways of working for the new cross‑process SME role.
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and best‑practice adoption across SME teams.
• Partner with Global Process Owners, FC&C Operations, Group Methodology, IT application controls teams and external auditors.
• Lead cross‑process coordination and project management, managing priorities, dependencies and actions.
• Strengthen IT application controls capability and act as an ambassador for system‑enabled and automated controls.
• Support control environment evolution in the context of S/4HANA / Lean Digital Core transformation.
• Identify opportunities to harmonise, simplify and improve global controls processes, including digital enablement and automation.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in finance controls, internal controls, risk, audit or compliance within a global, matrixed organization.
• Strong understanding of Internal Control over Financial Reporting, SOX/404 requirements, control design, remediation and testing.
• Experience with IT application controls, automated controls, system workflows, segregation of duties or finance systems.
• Proven ability to work cross‑process, connect stakeholders and translate complex requirements into pragmatic ways of working.
• Strong stakeholder management and project/change management capabilities.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional European language.
