Project Manager – Automation Projects (French)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Project Manager to lead automation projects for pulp and paper mills across Europe. The role is based at ABB’s Operations Center in Ostrava and involves direct interaction with customers and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage automation system projects from initiation to customer hand‑over.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate internal project teams, ensuring delivery on quality, schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, sales teams and other ABB units in an international environment.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation according to ABB processes.
• Identify risks, propose corrective actions and manage changes.
• Review completed projects, share best practices and support continuous improvement.
• Assist the sales team during proposal preparation with technical input.

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related technical field.
• Proven project management experience in a technical or industrial setting.
• Fluent English and French for daily communication with customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of automation systems; experience in process automation or the pulp and paper industry is a plus.
• Strong ability to build customer relationships and communicate across teams.
• Proactive mindset, strong organizational skills and accountability for results.
