Construction Manager

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Construction Manager to lead and coordinate construction activities for its industrial projects in the Czech Republic. The role involves overseeing technical supervisors, safety coordinators and assistants, ensuring safe and compliant execution of works across greenfield and brownfield sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the construction team, including technical supervisors, safety coordinators and assistants.
• Ensure all team members receive proper safety training and that suppliers nominate authorized safety personnel.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, issue written notices and suspend work when safety, environmental or asset protection standards are not met.
• Set up site facilities with all required permits and documentation.
• Issue work instructions, receive completed works and handle related documentation such as certificates, declarations of conformity and as‑built records.
• Monitor construction progress against project documentation, public authority requirements and the project schedule.
• Control subcontractor performance and evaluate their suitability.
• Maintain adherence to the construction timeline as defined in the master schedule.

Required profile

• Technical university or secondary education in construction or mechanical engineering.
• 4–5 years of experience in a similar construction management role (junior candidates may also be considered).
• Knowledge of permitting processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD (the latter is a plus).
• English language level B2.
• Driving licence category B.
• Strong sense of responsibility, independence, teamwork and communication skills.
