Senior Tax Specialist (VAT)

About the role

As a Senior VAT Specialist you will ensure accurate and compliant VAT reporting across multiple entities, provide expert guidance, and drive continuous improvement and automation of tax processes. You will also manage tax risks, support audits, and mentor junior team members while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, validate and submit VAT returns, supporting schedules and documentation required by the Federal Tax Authority.
• Provide proactive VAT advice to customer centres, the HUB VAT team and other internal departments.
• Support tax audits by supplying necessary documentation.
• Identify, manage and escalate material tax risks.
• Communicate VAT‑related opportunities and risks in complex Atlas Copco transactions.
• Analyze VAT reporting processes and recommend improvements.
• Assist in reviewing and automating VAT processes together with the Automation team.
• Support internal VAT projects and deliver training sessions for PTP and AtR departments.
• Mentor junior VAT team members and encourage their professional development.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in indirect taxes (VAT).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations and standards.
• Degree in business, economics, finance, accounting or a related field.
• Very good command of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.
