Associate Designer – Switchgear Protection & Control

About the role

ABB is seeking an Associate Designer to join its Switchgear Protection and Control team in Brno. You will work on configuring and testing medium‑voltage (MV) switchgear protection terminals, gaining hands‑on experience in a leading global industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Configure protection terminals of MV switchgear.
• Test functionality and control functions of MV switchgear.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production staff.
• Provide professional training to customers when required.

Required profile

• Secondary or university education in electrical engineering.
• English proficiency for email, meetings and video calls.
• Independence and willingness to apply knowledge in practice.
• Driving licence category B.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC applications (MS Office, Windows, Excel).
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (training provided).
