Functional Safety Engineer

About the role

ABB is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to support engineering activities across various project sizes and complexities. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers, ensuring tasks are completed cost‑effectively and in line with contract specifications, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.
• Prepare project documentation within your scope of deliverables and assist customers on technical issues.
• Participate in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.

Required profile

• Electrical education (minimum secondary level).
• Advanced knowledge of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel abroad.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
• Machinery safety knowledge (advantage).
• Experience in automation (appreciated).
