Data Engineer – Build Scalable Azure & Databricks Pipelines

About the role

AXA Partners is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Team in Ostrava. You will design, build and maintain robust data pipelines on Azure and Databricks, enabling analytics and reporting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design, develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot issues and ensure reliable data flow.
• Contribute to the evolution of the data architecture that supports business decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering and building production‑grade pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modelling and database design principles.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory or Databricks Workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation.
• Ability to optimise data movement and storage at scale.
• English at B2 level and good analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork skills.
