Freight Audit Senior Specialist

About the role

As a Freight Audit Senior Specialist you will be responsible for reviewing and validating freight invoices across the EUR and/or US scope, ensuring compliance with contracts and protecting the company’s financial integrity. You will work closely with Procurement, Transport Planning and Documentation teams to resolve discrepancies and support continuous improvement of the audit process.

Key responsibilities

• Validate freight invoices by comparing carrier invoices against contracts, rates and purchase orders.
• Resolve discrepancies with carriers/forwarders, disputing overcharges and closing gaps promptly.
• Book costs to the correct cost centres and execute recharges, including D&D, according to the recharge model.
• Identify gaps, strengthen controls and drive automation for a touch‑less audit workflow.
• Produce routine and ad‑hoc reports, track shipping line performance and monitor process KPIs.
• Investigate audit cases within agreed SLAs using SAP and the Transport Management System, maintaining up‑to‑date procedures.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, contributing to automation and process optimisation projects.

Required profile

• Fluent English (C1 level) with strong communication skills.
• Experience in freight audit, logistics invoicing, finance operations or invoice validation.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage complex cases.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI or similar data‑visualisation tools.
• SAP.
• Transport Management System (TMS).
