Postdoctoral Researcher – High Harmonic Generation Beamline

About the role

The ELI Beamlines Facility seeks a scientifically oriented and technically capable postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the operation and further development of its High Harmonic Generation (HHG) Beamline.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research in high harmonic generation, ultrafast XUV science and related applications.
• Develop and optimise HHG sources, diagnostics and experimental methods focusing on photon flux, stability, spectral properties and beam quality.
• Support external users by preparing experiments, aligning the beamline, optimising the source and assisting with data acquisition and initial analysis.
• Troubleshoot experimental problems, ensure reliable beamline performance during user campaigns and contribute to upgrades and new component integration.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in physics, engineering or a related field.
• Research experience in ultrafast laser physics, nonlinear optics or XUV science.
• Hands‑on experience with femtosecond laser optical setups.
• Strong scientific publication record and good communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in an international, multidisciplinary team.
