Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our Europe‑wide infrastructure operations team. The role is primarily remote within the Czech Republic, with occasional meetings at our Prague office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable server and virtualization infrastructure in line with global and European standards.
• Proactively monitor systems, resolve incidents and provide second‑ and third‑line support for complex server issues.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Lead operational workstreams within BAU projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
• Collaborate with the delivery team to transition new services into production.
• Contribute to infrastructure design, standards, tooling decisions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Perform patching, backup, disaster‑recovery and compliance activities according to security policies.
• Mentor junior team members and support audit, compliance and reporting activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration (Red Hat preferred).
• In‑depth experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V) and hyper‑converged infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash).
• Experience with server hardware, backup solutions, disaster‑recovery planning and testing.
• Familiarity with IT service management principles, ticketing processes and change management.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues independently and under pressure.
