System Software Engineer – Windows Update Platform

About the role

Join the Update Platform team as a Software Engineer II and help deliver Windows updates to billions of customers daily. You will work on cutting‑edge technologies, including machine learning and AI, to improve the reliability, security, and performance of the update pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for the update stack client that manage discovery, installation, and lifecycle of OS updates.
• Collaborate with teams across WSD and Windows to integrate ML/AI models, applications, and security updates.
• Address security vulnerabilities while building resilient, scalable architecture for the update pipeline.
• Develop, test, and ship code in a fast‑paced quarterly planning cycle, supporting validation rings and retail customers.
• Contribute to internal processes and tools that enable rapid yet reliable code delivery.
