Backup Consultant (IBM Spectrum Protect / Commvault)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backup Consultant to join our Backup Services team in the Czech Republic. The role combines daily operational duties with consulting and project work, focusing on stable and reliable enterprise backup services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) and Commvault environments.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and complex technical issues.
• Perform backup troubleshooting, restore testing, disaster‑recovery support and health checks.
• Manage backup policies, schedules, retention settings, storage pools and capacity activities.
• Participate in migrations from IBM Spectrum Protect to Commvault and other transformation projects.
• Collaborate with Backup Service Architects on service improvements and platform development.

Required profile

• Minimum 4–5 years of experience administering enterprise backup environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) – mandatory.
• Practical experience with Commvault; ability to reach required proficiency within an agreed timeframe.
• Proven track record handling incidents, root‑cause analysis and service restoration in production.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
