Category Leader – IT

About the role

The Category Leader – IT will drive sourcing activities across all IT categories, including SaaS, cloud solutions, hardware, software licensing and services. Operating in a regulated generic pharmaceuticals environment, the role ensures IT performance, cybersecurity, compliance and cost efficiency while supporting digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the global IT category strategy in partnership with the Category Manager.
• Lead tactical sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs, bid evaluation, contract negotiation) for IT hardware, software and services.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance monitoring and risk mitigation, including dual‑sourcing and cybersecurity assessments.
• Collaborate with IT, Digital, Finance, Legal and Compliance to align sourcing with roadmaps and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver cost‑control measures, track savings and support budgeting and ESG initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Pharmacy or related field.
• 3‑6 years of hands‑on procurement experience, preferably in indirect procurement for pharma or regulated manufacturing.
• Advanced negotiation, stakeholder management and project leadership skills.

Required skills

• SaaS and cloud solutions sourcing.
• ERP, software licensing and IT hardware procurement.
• Procurement systems operation (P2P/S2C) and supplier onboarding.
• Supplier performance tracking and KPI management.
• Understanding of IT cost structures, licensing models and service delivery.
