Chief Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the financial operations of our manufacturing site in Louka u Litvínova, Czech Republic. The role will ensure accurate reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and support strategic financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and VAT (Czech, EU).
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, transitioning to IFRS and US GAAP.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and safeguard company assets.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes and coordinate planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Support external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Supervise, train and develop the accounting team, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in an accounting role, preferably within manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with QAD or a similar ERP system.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance and audit coordination.

Required skills

• QAD (or comparable ERP) proficiency.
• Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP reporting standards.
• VAT handling for Czech and EU jurisdictions.
• Cost accounting expertise.
