Country Representative for Iraq

About the role

People in Need (PIN) is seeking a senior leader to serve as Country Representative for Iraq. Based in Prague with regular travel to Erbil, the role provides strategic oversight of programme implementation, ensures compliance with Iraqi authorities, and represents PIN with donors and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Represent PIN at meetings with Kurdish and Federal Iraqi governments, donors, UN agencies and other NGOs.
• Lead the development and execution of the country programme, aligning with PIN HQ strategies and Iraqi national development plans.
• Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including tenders and government partnerships.
• Oversee operational functions: HR, procurement, logistics, security and finance.
• Manage the Country team, including Program Manager, Coordinator, MEAL Officer, Operations Officer and Finance & Admin Manager.
• Monitor political, humanitarian and socio‑economic contexts and adapt programme approaches accordingly.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior management within humanitarian or development settings.
• Proven ability to work with government authorities and international donors.
• Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
• Excellent analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
