Data Engineer – Azure & Databricks

About the role

Bounteous is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and platforms on Azure. The role works closely with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, well‑modeled data for reporting, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar tools.
• Build and maintain data lake / lakehouse solutions on Azure, including Data Lake Storage and Delta Lake.
• Develop efficient data models and curated datasets to support BI and analytics use cases.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Strong SQL and data modeling abilities.
• Experience with Azure data services such as Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and best practices.
