Director – Energy Management (EMEA)

About the role

As Director of Energy Management you will lead a newly scaled organization across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, shaping the region’s energy strategy and delivering measurable commercial and operational impact.

Key responsibilities

• Define and steer the regional energy procurement strategy, balancing risk and reward while ensuring transparent decision‑making.
• Support operational optimisation of energy consumption, including load‑management, flexibility technologies and the interface between commercial strategy and plant operations.
• Drive governance through RBU Energy Boards, guaranteeing alignment on strategic parameters and high‑quality decisions.
• Oversee large‑scale energy purchase decisions and deliver significant productivity contributions within agreed strategic cornerstones.
• Build senior capability in a high‑performing team, ensuring technical excellence, commercial discipline and strong cross‑regional collaboration.

Required profile

• More than ten years of experience in energy management and at least five years in industrial gases or comparable energy‑intensive industries.
• Proven ability to lead senior stakeholders, influence diverse regional situations and make strategic decisions under uncertainty.
• Academic degree in a technical or financial discipline.
• Track record of preparing or executing large‑scale commercial decisions with significant financial exposure.
