Electrical Engineer III – Operations Engineering

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to lead the development and implementation of new electrical and electronic solutions. Working at the intersection of R&D, engineering, manufacturing and external suppliers, you will help bring innovative technologies to market while improving existing product designs.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and external suppliers on the development of new products, electrical components, subsystems and technical solutions.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new electrical and electronic solutions, components, subsystems and technologies with external suppliers and technology partners.
• Provide engineering input into supplier selection, define technical requirements, evaluate proposed solutions and support verification and implementation.
• Contribute to product and technology development from concept through prototyping, testing, qualification and implementation in cooperation with cross‑functional teams.
• Investigate technical challenges, evaluate alternative design concepts and propose solutions to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, quality and cost.
• Act as the technical interface between internal engineering teams and suppliers, coordinating technical reviews and supporting prototype builds and testing.
• Support the transfer of newly developed electrical solutions into manufacturing, ensuring designs are robust, scalable, testable and production‑ready.
