Engineering Manager – Real-Time Location Systems

About the role

As an Engineering Manager you will lead a cross‑functional team of software, hardware and firmware engineers developing HID’s Real‑Time Location Systems in Brno. You will mentor highly technical staff, coordinate development and delivery, and work with globally distributed product and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers across software, hardware and firmware, fostering a culture of innovation.
• Coordinate development and delivery of solutions, including quarterly PI Planning and SAFe ceremonies.
• Partner with Product Owners, Product Managers and System Architects to align technical work with business needs.
• Own delivery of business objectives, manage dependencies, risks and capacity, and ensure secure development lifecycle.
• Translate business and technical objectives into actionable plans and prioritize work across backend services, APIs, frontend applications and production operations.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (or equivalent) with at least 8 years of experience, or master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 3 years.
• Minimum 5 years in a formal leadership role managing technical teams.
• Strong background in designing, developing and maintaining backend services and full‑stack web applications.
• Proven experience with agile delivery, SAFe and quarterly PI Planning.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills in Czech and English.
