Executive Pastry Chef – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Augustine Hotel Prague, a historic 13th‑century monastery turned ultra‑luxury hotel, is seeking an Executive Pastry Chef to define its sweet culinary identity. The role leads the pastry department, creates high‑end desserts, and ensures 5‑star standards across all guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the pastry kitchen, designing and executing signature desserts, afternoon tea, seasonal amenities and banquet menus.
• Maintain 5‑star quality by ensuring every creation meets the highest standards of taste, texture and visual artistry.
• Recruit, train, mentor and motivate a pastry team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and precision.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage food costs, inventory and supplier relations, sourcing premium seasonal and local ingredients.
• Uphold impeccable hygiene, food safety and kitchen organization, leading by example in professional kitchen management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Pastry Chef or Head Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel (ideally 5‑star) or high‑end fine‑dining establishment.
• Deep knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques with a strong sense of aesthetic presentation.
• Natural leader with excellent communication skills, capable of managing a diverse team under fast‑paced, high‑pressure conditions.
• Understanding of kitchen financials, menu engineering, portion control and waste management without compromising quality.
