Finance Analyst – Strategic Finance

About the role

Join Groupon’s Strategic Finance team to help drive the company’s financial strategy while leveraging AI‑native tools. You will own month‑end reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning, turning routine work into automated agents and focusing on insight and storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly SG&A variance reporting, improve AI agents that prepare accruals, pull actuals, and draft commentary, then deliver the narrative to business leaders.
• Support quarterly forecasts and the annual operating plan, validate inputs with business owners and HR partners, and challenge assumptions generated by agents.
• Assist in semi‑annual strategic planning, ensuring resources are allocated to high‑impact projects.
• Develop and maintain OKRs, key metrics, and financial models used by department heads.
• Document inherited workflows, convert them into reusable AI agent skills, and measure automation coverage.
• Perform ad‑hoc analysis on topics such as software renewals and engineering time capitalization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Controlling or a similar analytical role.
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding agents or building reusable AI prompts/workflows.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and habit of reconciling numbers before release.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and comfort with large data sets.
• SQL (or Python) – a plus.
• Experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex.
