Forward Deployed Engineer (Hybrid, Prague)

About the role

CallMiner is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Prague, part of a global function with teams in EMEA and North America. The role takes a defined use case from nothing to a working, production-grade system inside the customer's environment, working daily with the customer's engineers and executives, mostly online, as one delivery unit. It combines conversation design and integration engineering: you build the technical logic behind a scenario and the flow of the conversation itself. The position is hybrid, with significant customer on-site availability required.

Key responsibilities

• Translate a stated business problem into a technical architecture that fits the customer's processes, constraints and systems.
• Design, build and iterate the first working version of the agent, end to end, so it goes into production.
• Build custom extensions, integrations, services and tooling needed for the deployment, without waiting for core roadmap prioritization.
• Own the integration surface: systems of record, contact channels, data flows, and for voice deployments the telephony path from carrier to agent.
• Define workflow-specific tests, run them against real traffic and iterate until the numbers improve.
• Deploy alongside the customer's engineers, monitor against agreed KPIs and stay accountable past go-live.
• Capture reusable patterns and feed them back to the core product.

Required profile

• 2+ years building and shipping software in a customer-facing role, with direct customer exposure.
• Genuine depth in conversation and agent design or integration engineering, with the appetite to grow the other.
• Ability to explain complex systems clearly to customer engineers and executives, and to own a complex project end to end.
• Comfort with ambiguity and non-deterministic systems, and willingness to travel.
• Professional English used daily with colleagues in EMEA and North America; Czech strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Hands-on coding in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python and/or C#/.NET, writing and maintaining production services.
• Solid experience of SQL, Linux and Docker.
• Software architecture and API integration: authentication, webhooks, queues, error handling.
• Distributing data across heavily loaded infrastructure, accounting for race conditions, deadlocks and thread safety.
• Preferred: conversational AI and voice agents, contact centre platforms (Genesys, Avaya, NICE, Five9, Amazon Connect), cloud and container deployment (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes), and GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 awareness.
