GL Accountant – Fixed Asset (Prague)

About the role

Join a dynamic finance team in Prague as a GL Accountant focused on Fixed Assets. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and reporting of both tangible and intangible assets, supporting the company’s international brands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end fixed‑asset accounting process, including capitalization, transfers, technical improvements, depreciation and disposals.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, perform regular balance reconciliations and produce internal‑control reports.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance, Tax, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics to resolve accounting treatment issues.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, prepare manual journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare statutory, tax, group‑consolidation and internal‑audit fixed‑asset reports.
• Support internal and external audit activities and drive process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in General Ledger or Fixed‑Asset accounting.
• Understanding of Fixed‑Asset accounting principles, CZ GAAP and IFRS.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies consistently.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
• Professional proficiency in Czech and English.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
