Head of Preclinical Evaluation Module

About the role

The Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) seeks a senior scientist to lead its Preclinical Evaluation Module (PEM). The role combines scientific direction, strategic planning, and operational management to deliver integrated preclinical testing for academic and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Define the scientific vision and long‑term development plan for PEM as an integrated preclinical platform.
• Lead and coordinate specialist units (metabolomics, immunology, biochemistry, haematology, histopathology) and ensure coherent workflow integration.
• Establish and supervise GLP‑like quality‑management processes for demanding studies.
• Develop and manage a structured preclinical‑studies function, including study planning, conduct, evaluation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with other CCP modules (phenotyping, data science, infectious‑disease research) to support end‑to‑end pipelines.
• Mentor and coordinate PEM staff, plan resources, and maintain high quality standards.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in biomedical sciences, pharmacology, immunology, pathology, toxicology, biochemistry, metabolism, veterinary medicine or related field.
• Proven experience in preclinical or translational research, therapeutic evaluation, or experimental pathology.
• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, core facilities or scientific service platforms.
• Familiarity with study planning, documentation, reporting and GLP or GLP‑like quality frameworks.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact with academic and industrial partners.
