HR Manager – Plant Ramp‑up, Ostrava Hrušov

About the role

The HR Manager will lead the human‑resources function for the new plant in Ostrava Hrušov, Czech Republic, supporting the ramp‑up phase and acting as the primary HR partner for leaders and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Own the HR agenda for the Ostrava Hrušov location, serving as trusted point of contact for managers and staff.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership during the plant ramp‑up, including recruitment, qualification, compensation planning and employee engagement.
• Lead all recruitment activities for the ramp‑up project, ensuring timely hiring of required talent.
• Oversee core HR processes such as onboarding, performance management, and payroll.
• Promote collaboration with other locations and the sub‑regional HR team.
• Ensure compliance with Czech labour law, social regulations and company policies.
• Drive implementation of strategic HR programs and initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Initiate and manage personnel policy projects, monitor outcomes and control effectiveness.
• Coordinate co‑determination procedures and apply the Works Constitution Act.
• Lead, develop and make personnel decisions for direct reports.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Several years of operational HR experience, preferably in automotive or industrial environments.
• Proven leadership experience in ramp‑up or fast‑growth settings.
• Strong knowledge of Czech labour law and modern HR practices.
• Fluent in Czech and English, both spoken and written.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and change‑management skills.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with high personal responsibility and adaptability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using SAP.
• Experience with SuccessFactors.
• Hands‑on knowledge of payroll systems.
