Junior Data Collection Specialist

About the role

As a Junior Data Collection Specialist you will work directly with the biomedical engineering and robotics teams to capture high‑quality human movement and wearable‑sensor data. You will operate the data‑collection workstation, prepare participants, run standardized experimental protocols, monitor signal quality, and ensure every recording is correctly labelled and documented. This is a hands‑on laboratory role focused on data acquisition rather than software development.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day human data‑collection sessions using the Neural Gambit wearable and associated hardware.
• Prepare the workstation, wearable equipment and participants before each recording.
• Position and fit wearable sensors/electrodes according to established protocols.
• Monitor recordings in real time, troubleshoot hardware issues and ensure data quality.
• Label, timestamp, annotate and log each recording accurately.

Required profile

• 1+ years of relevant professional experience.
• BSc or MSc (or in progress) in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, biomechanics, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, experimental psychology or a related technical discipline.
• Comfortable working directly with people, hardware and experimental equipment.
• High attention to detail for data labeling and protocol adherence.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Excel (spreadsheets) for data handling.
