Linux Operations Engineer

About the role

Sentia, part of the Aeven Group, is looking for a skilled Linux Operations Engineer to join its Prague team. You will be responsible for keeping the company’s Linux‑based infrastructure reliable, secure, and performant while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain a fleet of Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
• Deploy and manage web servers (Apache, Nginx), databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching systems (Redis).
• Develop automation scripts in Bash or Python and use configuration‑management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Troubleshoot performance, security and network issues across the environment.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios) and ensure proactive issue resolution.
• Apply security best practices, conduct regular audits and manage firewalls and access controls.

Required profile

• Strong Linux system‑administration background with solid command‑line skills.
• Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
• Experience scripting in Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and at least one public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities.
