Low-Latency C++ Senior Developer

About the role

Barclays is looking for a Low-latency C++ Senior Developer to join its Prague office. The role involves designing, developing and improving high-performance, low-latency software that works with market data, including real-time data feeds and data storage, in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed environment. The position is open to both individual contributors and people leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality software using industry-aligned languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers on requirements, solution strategies and integration
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay up to date with technology trends
• Follow secure coding practices and implement unit testing
• As a leader: advise stakeholders, manage risk and controls, plan resources and budgets, and coach and develop team members

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of C++ programming and design patterns
• Ability to work with market data, including real-time feeds and data storage
• Leadership expectations depend on whether the role carries management responsibilities

Required skills

• Low-latency C++ programming
• Multi-threading and concurrency, with performance tuning and optimization
• SQL or KDB database experience
• Nice to have: financial markets, trading systems and algorithmic trading; ITCH, FAST, FIX protocols; Python or Shell scripting

What we offer

• Salary range of CZK 1,884,000 to CZK 2,301,000 (base salary only)
