Modernization Engineer / FDE (AI & Cloud)

About the role

Kyndryl is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) in Brno to work closely with strategic customers as a hands-on technical partner. The role combines engineering, consulting and product expertise to deliver AI adoption and modernization solutions, owning delivery from scoping and prototyping through implementation, production rollout, adoption and optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Work with customers to understand their challenges, constraints, current workflows and desired outcomes, and turn ambiguous requirements into prototypes, implementation plans and adoption paths.
• Design, build and iterate custom AI and modernization solutions, including agentic workflows, RAG-enabled solutions, API integrations and enterprise automation patterns.
• Lead end-to-end delivery, validate performance, scalability, reliability, security and guardrails, and maintain documentation of architecture, runbooks and reusable patterns.
• Apply Generative AI, Agentic AI and multi-agent systems, integrate them with APIs, cloud platforms, data stores and vector databases, and share feedback and patterns back to Kyndryl platforms.

Required profile

• Hands-on development experience in Python or modern languages such as C#, Node.js or TypeScript.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: SDLC, Git/GitHub, APIs, backend services, automated testing, CI/CD and secure engineering.
• Experience designing, building or integrating AI solutions with tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, AutoGen or CrewAI.
• Knowledge of RAG architectures, prompt engineering, SQL/NoSQL databases and vector databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containers and distributed systems, including Azure, AWS or GCP, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Consulting and stakeholder skills, and a T-shaped profile with deep expertise in one or two areas.
• Preferred: degree in CS, informatics or a related field, and real project experience delivering AI solutions in production.
