Platform Engineer – ABAP Cloud Infrastructure & Orchestration

About the role

You will design, build and operate platform capabilities for SAP's ABAP Cloud environment, ensuring reliability, scalability and performance. After an initial mentored phase you will take full ownership of automation and tooling for a large fleet of ABAP systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate deployment frameworks and infrastructure automation for ABAP Cloud.
• Improve system reliability, scalability and performance through monitoring, alerting and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with product, design and cloud operations teams to translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Develop ABAP‑based operation tools for the BTP ABAP Cloud environment.
• Define concepts, APIs and implement procedures for operating a cloud landscape of ABAP systems.
• Implement test automation for platform components.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms and containerised environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, observability and system reliability.
• Experience with DevOps practices and troubleshooting using logs and metrics.
• Good degree in computer science, mathematics, natural science, engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience as a developer, software engineer or project manager.
• Fluency in Czech and English; German is a plus.
