Private Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Thales is looking for a versatile Platform DevOps Engineer to join the team that bridges product development and field deployment. The role focuses on delivering a reliable core platform that runs cloud‑native products in customer data‑centers, especially in offline or air‑gapped environments.

Key responsibilities

• Production & Deployment Support – act as a technical subject‑matter expert during critical deployment phases, including on‑site assistance in customer data‑centers.
• Platform Development – design, build and maintain the core platform built on Kubernetes and a suite of open‑source components such as logging, monitoring, managed databases and message queues.
• Internal PaaS Management – administer, automate and evolve the Proxmox‑based Platform‑as‑Service that powers R&D teams.
• Engineering Support & Troubleshooting – analyse complex service interactions, debug performance issues and optimise protocols including messaging queues, database connections and authentication flows.

Required profile

• Strong background in cloud‑native and DevOps environments.
• Experience delivering reliable solutions in offline or air‑gapped customer data‑centers.
• Ability to work closely with development and field‑deployment teams, including occasional travel.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a focus on platform reliability and scalability.
