Senior Accountant II

About the role

Expedia Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant II to lead statutory accounting compliance for multiple large, complex entities within the organization. The role involves close collaboration with auditors, tax teams, and internal finance partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with external auditors, coordinate data collection, and manage audit queries.
• Prepare statutory accounts, journal entries, and monthly reconciliations for assigned companies.
• Collaborate with the International Tax team on corporation tax matters.
• Onboard new group companies into global accounting processes and document process flows.
• Support the VAT team with return reviews and ad‑hoc journal postings.
• Communicate with external advisors on local GAAP differences and compliance when bookkeeping is outsourced.
• Lead process improvements for statutory financial statements and audit procedures.
• Maintain and monitor SOX controls.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent preferred.
• Big 4 audit experience is a strong advantage.
• Fluency in English.
