Senior Android OS Software Engineer

About the role

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Android OS Software Engineer to join its Services & Connectivity organization within the Cabin Management Systems division. You will work on embedded and mobile Android software components, contributing to aerospace projects from concept through certification and entry into service.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and optimize Android applications, system services, and internal frameworks using Java.
• Implement and integrate Android APIs at both application and system levels, working with AOSP components such as HAL and custom builds.
• Develop and debug in a Linux environment using tools like adb, gdb, strace, logcat, and perf.
• Collaborate on system bring‑up, hardware/software integration, and device‑level debugging.
• Implement and maintain SELinux policies, resolve denials, and ensure compliance with Android security requirements.
• Design and implement internal and external APIs (REST, RPC, HAL interfaces) and integrate them into the platform.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Android OS internals and Java development.
• Proficiency in Linux‑based development and debugging tools.
• Hands‑on experience with AOSP, HAL, and custom Android builds.
• Knowledge of SELinux policy creation and security model compliance.
• Eligibility to work in the EU or US due to export restrictions.
