Senior Automation Software Tester, MSR team (remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Software Tester to join the Mirantis Secure Registry (MSR) team. The role focuses on building and leading QA strategies for a Kubernetes‑native container registry used by enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the overall QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, aligning quality goals with business objectives and release deadlines.
• Lead risk analysis, test planning and design of complex, production‑like test scenarios across multi‑cluster and hybrid‑cloud environments.
• Architect test frameworks and infrastructure, integrating scalable automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Mentor QA engineers and developers in advanced testing techniques such as chaos engineering, performance and load testing.
• Establish quality gates, release readiness metrics and integrate performance, security and chaos testing into the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on Kubernetes, cloud‑native applications and distributed systems.
• Proven leadership in building and scaling test strategies for enterprise‑grade environments.
• Strong problem‑solving, architectural thinking and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
• Experience mentoring junior team members on testing fundamentals and automation.

Required skills

• Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm and service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).
• Python, Pytest, Bash scripting and automation.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and Jaeger.
• Performance benchmarking tools (e.g., K6).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container runtimes (Docker, containerd).
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and GitOps/Flux.
• Linux system administration, networking, certificates/PKI management.
