Senior Data Scientist - Real-Time Esports Predictions (m/f/x)

About the role

GRID is building real‑time prediction systems for competitive esports such as CS2, Dota 2 and League of Legends. The senior data scientist will lead research, design and continuous improvement of core predictive models that power live betting markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Model R&D: design, build and optimise machine‑learning models and statistical frameworks that power real‑time odds and betting markets.
• Advanced feature engineering: extract predictive signals from high‑frequency esports telemetry and turn complex in‑game mechanics into structured modelling features.
• Build state‑of‑the‑art models: focus on performance and probability calibration, and create rigorous back‑testing frameworks that avoid data leakage.
• Develop market logic: define mathematical rules that translate baseline win probabilities into derivative markets such as handicaps, totals and player props.
• Deploy real‑time production systems: ensure models are integrated into production‑grade pipelines and micro‑services for live betting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in data science, quantitative research or statistical modelling.
• Deep understanding of probability, statistics and machine‑learning theory.
• Expert‑level Python programming with clean, production‑grade code.
• Proven ability to design complex back‑testing environments and custom evaluation metrics.

Required skills

• Python
• MLFlow
• Airflow
• MLOps principles
