Senior Tax Specialist

About the role

SAP is looking for a Senior Tax Specialist to lead tax compliance, risk management and strategic planning for its entities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and other Central‑Eastern European markets. You will work autonomously, partner with the Global Tax team and drive tax‑focused automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, tax accounting and transfer pricing for legal entities in the MEE region.
• Design and implement comprehensive tax strategies, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks, manage controversies and maintain relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Oversee transfer‑pricing policies and ensure full compliance with inter‑company transactions.
• Collaborate with finance, IT and business units to scale AI‑driven solutions that automate manual compliance processes.
• Provide tax guidance to other departments, mentor junior tax professionals and contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes.

Required profile

• University degree in tax, finance, economics or a related field.
• Up to 5 years of hands‑on experience in tax compliance, corporate tax and tax risk management within a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to work independently across multiple jurisdictions, especially Poland, Czech Republic or Hungary.
• Strong communication skills in English; Polish or Czech language proficiency is a plus.
