Software Engineer II – AI & Agentic Systems

About the role

Jamf is looking for a Software Engineer II to join a new team focused on secure, governed adoption of autonomous and agentic workflows. You will help build production systems where AI agents author code changes inside deterministic gates, with full audit trails and independent verification.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement production systems that let AI agents perform real code changes while maintaining deterministic gates and auditability.
• Define trust boundaries, blast radius, and least‑privilege models for automation that holds elevated production access.
• Develop evaluation and observability tooling to measure accuracy and detect silent degradation.
• Generate audit‑ready evidence that controls have operated correctly.
• Collaborate closely with security engineering and platform development teams, communicating complex technical details clearly.
• Promote engineering best practices, ask sharp questions, solve hard problems, and mentor teammates.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial experience building enterprise‑grade software.
• Strong background in Java or Python development.
• Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs and agentic frameworks (tool calling, multi‑step execution, structured output).
• Practical use of AI‑driven coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code to accelerate work.
• Sound judgment about where automation should act autonomously and the ability to articulate those limits.
• Security‑mindset: thinking in trust boundaries, blast radius, and least‑privilege by default.
