Software Engineer III – Cloud Tooling

About the role

As a Software Engineer III on Transcarent’s cloud tooling team, you will design and operate the internal cloud platform that enables engineers to build, deploy, and run applications quickly and reliably on AWS. You will become the go‑to expert for a range of AWS services and help shape the company’s infrastructure‑as‑code strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain shared AWS‑based infrastructure powering applications on ECS, EKS, and Lambda.
• Develop automation platforms using TypeScript and Python to provision resources as code, supporting self‑service for other teams.
• Mentor junior engineers, provide tooling guidance, and consult across engineering groups.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, ensure cloud resiliency, and act as subject‑matter expert for specific AWS domains.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams using agile principles.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building internal delivery platforms.
• Proven track record delivering features to production in a cloud‑native environment.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent written communication for documentation and diagrams.

Required skills

• AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, serverless, container orchestration).
• TypeScript (or other statically typed language) and Python.
• Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform.
• CI/CD pipeline integration and DevOps tooling.
• Linux internals, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, load‑balancing, routing, CDN, DNS, HTTP, SSL, API routing).
