System Engineer RAM/LCC – Locomotives

About the role

Join Siemens Mobility’s Locomotive Engineering team to drive reliability, availability, maintainability and life‑cycle cost (RAM/LCC) improvements for next‑generation locomotives. You will work with operational data, suppliers and internal experts to optimise maintenance concepts and reduce total cost of ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare RAM (reliability & availability) and LCC (life‑cycle cost) analyses for locomotives and subsystems, using operational data.
• Implement RAM/LCC processes independently in projects and create specifications for systems and components.
• Support and coordinate RAM/LCC activities throughout vehicle development, collaborating closely with design engineers, customer service, purchasing, customers and suppliers.
• Develop vehicle maintenance concepts and condition‑based maintenance plans.

Required profile

• University degree in a technical field (mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, transport engineering, etc.).
• Experience in the rail vehicle industry or a similar sector, preferably in development, commissioning or maintenance.
• Knowledge of reliability, availability, maintainability or life‑cycle cost, with hands‑on experience in RAM or LCC calculations.
• Strong analytical mindset and enthusiasm for working with numbers and large data sets.
• Proven experience on complex technical projects.
