Team Lead - Cloud Engineering (Azure & Kubernetes)

About the role

We are looking for a senior engineer to lead a team of nine engineers while staying hands‑on with cloud and Kubernetes technologies. The role is based in Brno, Czechia and focuses on designing, operating and evolving our Azure‑based production environment for the ESET XDR platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of nine engineers, conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, goal setting and career planning.
• Design, build and operate services on Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including scaling, networking and security.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm, and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Integrate Kubernetes workloads with Azure services such as Storage, PostgreSQL, Key Vault and Event Hubs.
• Improve performance, reliability, cost efficiency and observability of the production environment.
• Address security findings, contribute to threat modelling and work closely with security and architecture teams.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in software, cloud or platform engineering with production‑grade responsibilities.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes (preferably AKS), including architecture, deployment, scaling and security.
• Proven experience designing and operating micro‑services in Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure and integration of Azure services.
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Good communication skills in English and experience leading or mentoring engineers.
