Advanced Systems Engineer – Satellite Communications

About the role

As an Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace you will develop satellite terminal solutions for aircraft and UAVs, covering integration, testing, documentation and new product design. You will become an expert in Honeywell’s satcom portfolio, including the Aspire 350/400 offerings that provide in‑flight connectivity using Inmarsat satellites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct lab testing, measurements, integration and troubleshooting of airplane satellite modems, amplifiers and antennas.
• Author test procedures, reports and design test equipment; engage in certification activities.
• Present results to English‑speaking audiences and justify engineering decisions.
• Test system integration, verify test solutions and travel to external labs or aircraft for flight‑test integration within the EU.

Required profile

• Higher education in engineering (EE or ME preferred) with at least 2 years of systems‑engineering and project‑leadership experience.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• EU or US citizenship due to export restrictions.

Required skills

• RF/telecommunication knowledge and RF design/testing.
• Use of measurement instruments and familiarity with NI toolset.
• IP networking, IP security, Linux command line, scripting and reading Python code.
• Environmental testing standards (DO‑160), MOPS (DO‑262) and EMC/EMI design/testing.
• Electrical design and aviation‑technology concepts.
