Design Engineer – Portable Power Equipment

About the role

Bobcat is looking for a Design Engineer to join the portable power equipment team. You will be involved in the full product development cycle for compressors, diesel generators and lighting towers, from concept through prototype testing to manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, modify and maintain product, system and component designs.
• Create manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.
• Work in CAD and support technical analysis and simulations.
• Contribute to feasibility studies for new products and design changes.
• Support product development from concept through prototype and testing.
• Resolve technical issues in cooperation with production, testing and sourcing teams.
• Maintain engineering data in the lifecycle management system.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solid knowledge of mechanics; basic understanding of electro‑mechanics or electronics is a plus.
• Strong CAD and general IT skills, including MS Office and engineering tools.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work independently.
• Fluency in English; Czech is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dobříš and travel occasionally.
• Category B driving licence.
