DevOps Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

About the role

Bookbot is looking for a hands‑on DevOps Engineer to own and evolve its cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with the CTO to design, implement and maintain highly available services that support a fast‑growing recommerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Expand and maintain AWS infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement GitOps workflows with Terraform, ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
• Monitor systems using Prometheus, Loki and custom dashboards; set up alerts.
• Optimize costs through CostOps, spot‑instance usage and autoscaling (Karpenter, KEDA).
• Lead zero‑downtime migrations, e.g., moving to self‑managed Kafka with Strimzi.
• Build data pipelines (Debezium CDC, Snowflake) and transactional outbox patterns.
• Refactor file handling, S3 uploads and image pipelines.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, integrate Cypress tests and per‑PR deployment isolation.

Required profile

• Strong experience with cloud native technologies and infrastructure as code.
• Comfortable proposing and implementing new solutions independently.
• Basic proficiency in Czech (spoken).
• Ability to work onsite in Prague with flexible hours.
