General Ledger Specialist (Fixed Term)

About the role

The AtR General Ledger Specialist is based in Prague and ensures that the transactions of all markets supported by the business unit are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting process. The role works closely with local finance teams so that accounting records accurately reflect business results and comply with US GAAP. It is a temporary, fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general ledger support and analysis, including period-end financial close for Europe
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date accounting ledger and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded on a country basis
• Ensure accurate, timely period reporting in line with corporate and country requirements
• Carry out monthly account reconciliation in line with corporate standards
• Review and sign off the final financial package and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review the trial balance, identify trends, analyse variances and explain account balances with senior colleagues' support
• Identify opportunities to streamline service delivery, participate in projects and help drive standardisation and automation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting department of a multinational company
• Business-level English speaking and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Desired: SAP, IFRS, US GAAP and balance sheet reconciliations
