Java UI Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Java UI Developer to join the Java Framework team at Siemens Digital Industries Software. You will help shape the client‑side experience of Simcenter STAR‑CCM+, a leading physics simulation platform, by building and evolving Java‑based UI and API layers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document and implement robust, extensible Java client features for Simcenter STAR‑CCM+.
• Refactor existing code and improve modularity, maintainability and performance.
• Collaborate with UX, vertical and core framework teams using Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket.
• Participate in peer design and code reviews, and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Navigate a large code base comprising hundreds of modules and millions of lines of code.
• Occasionally travel to work onsite with distributed team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software design and development experience.
• Experience building client‑server desktop applications for Linux and Windows.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, including modern language features.
• Experience with Swing/NetBeans (or similar) UI frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows development environments.
• Ability to work with large legacy code bases and extensive datasets.
