Lab Platform Technical Lead – SaaS & Integration Engineer

About the role

We operate enterprise SaaS platforms, APIs, and data integrations that power our research organisation. As the technical owner of the Signals Research Suite – an electronic lab notebook used by scientists worldwide – you will drive the platform’s roadmap, releases, and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the configuration, customisation, and development of the Signals Research Suite and its integrations.
• Run the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, scripting, testing, deployment, and hyper‑care.
• Lead investigation and resolution of production incidents across application, API, data, identity, and network layers.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and develop AI‑assisted tools to improve workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with the vendor Revvity, product owners, and cross‑functional teams to prioritise enhancements and manage releases.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience engineering, operating, or owning production SaaS or enterprise platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with real production incidents and structured root‑cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of the complete SDLC and cloud networking fundamentals.
• Self‑driven, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently in a global, distributed team.

Required skills

• Python (or similar scripting language) for automation.
• Major cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• RESTful API design and integration patterns.
• Cloud networking basics: DNS, TLS, firewalls, proxies.
• AI‑assisted tooling for log analysis and incident triage.
• Observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
