Lab Technician – EMC & Component Support

About the role

Our System Validation team in Brno needs a reliable Lab Technician to support component ordering, DAA administration and hands‑on automotive EMC and robustness testing. The role combines administrative support for development projects with practical laboratory work on prototype integrated circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage DAA‑related administration and component ordering, track requests and propose suitable replacements when parts are unavailable.
• Prepare and assemble EMC and robustness test setups according to internal procedures and engineer instructions.
• Execute selected automotive EMC tests such as ESD gun, latch‑up and transient disturbance testing using Schaffner/Teseq equipment.
• Record test conditions, evaluate results against criteria and produce clear test reports.
• Maintain laboratory readiness by organising equipment, accessories, fixtures and documentation.

Required profile

• Secondary technical education or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Automation.
• Basic written and spoken English to read datasheets, procedures and standards.
• Practical knowledge of electronic components and ability to read simple schematics.
• Experience with laboratory instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and signal generators.

Required skills

• Component selection and DAA administration.
• ESD, latch‑up and automotive EMC testing.
• Use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, laboratory power supplies, signal generators, electronic loads and current probes.
• Manual soldering of SMD components and cable preparation.
• MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and SharePoint/Confluence.
