About the role
We are looking for a self‑guided Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical innovation from concept through high‑volume production. You will own the full development cycle, from CAD modelling to design verification and field support, ensuring quality, cost and schedule targets are met.
Key responsibilities
- Develop mechanical components from initial concept to mass production, creating high‑fidelity CAD models, detailed drawings and comprehensive BOMs.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware and Optical engineers to guarantee seamless cross‑functional hardware integration.
- Lead mechanical validation tests (fit, stress, thermal) and support iterative prototyping and lab testing.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimise designs for performance, cost and manufacturability.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and FMEAs while managing engineering documentation and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet quality, cost and schedule milestones.
- Provide field support and drive continuous design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
Required profile
- Proven experience in mechanical design for consumer electronics, IoT devices or products with varying IP ratings.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools, specifically SolidWorks or PTC Creo.
- Track record of designing plastic parts for injection molding and selecting appropriate materials.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (ISO/ASME) and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Intermediate level English (B1) and an ownership mindset.
