Payroll Specialist – German Payroll

About the role

Join the Global Payroll team at one of the biggest names in payments and manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for Germany. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery while complying with German legislation and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process German payroll from start to finish, guaranteeing compliance with tax, social security and statutory reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries, providing expert guidance on taxes, deductions and contributions.
• Collaborate with external payroll vendors to maintain service excellence and agreed service levels.
• Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations and validations to keep data accurate across payroll and HR systems.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes, controls and employee experience.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing German payroll, with strong knowledge of legislation, taxation and statutory reporting.
• Fluent in German and English, able to communicate complex payroll matters clearly.
• Experience working with payroll providers, payroll systems and HRIS platforms in a corporate or shared‑services environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to meet time‑sensitive deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (data analysis, Pivot Tables, lookup functions).
• Proficiency with payroll and HRIS software.
• Knowledge of German payroll legislation and compliance.
